So... Metaphors... "stories" that can change a life...

The word/term "metaphor" refers to a comparison, a pictographic description, an association of something with something visual, in which instead of being called something directly, to describe what is desired, a similar state of things is used. A lot of the information in my posts is, perhaps, for you, as new and exciting as a trip to an exotic country. This last sentence is a metaphor, an example of a metaphor.

But, what can be done with these metaphors? With her help you can make someone, (including yourself) learn something that she has not yet learned, using to describe your experience, that you do not know (or do not remember enough), something similar, known to both of you (only in your case it is about extracting/ shaping from the subconscious). After you spent a holiday in Switzerland you may tell him: "You know, the landscape in Switzerland impressed me in a similar way to the one in Retezat and the food often reminded me of the French restaurant in the center".

Thus, he may not understand exactly what you perceived, because he did not travel to that part of the world, but through comparisons that you have made and that he knows, he gain access to a foreign experience. The same can happen in the case of own memories where, by using such comparison metaphors, it is quickly accessible to update situations by simply comparing with others like, more vivid, more present.

It's all about the fact that each individual (each man) has a somewhat different pattern of reality, often in order to obtain a conflict-free communication being necessary to describe something that is not perceived by the other's conscious through an analogy that appears in the experiences of both. When we limit ourselves to ourselves, this difference in perception is evident having to "correlate" the subconscious that remembers everything in a neutral way, like simple records with what we call the conscious who associate everything with feelings and another type of perceptions, incomplete, but which, related, become somewhat more complete experiences.

In this respect there is a "famous" example. An Amerindian chieftain asked a missionary what he meant by God. The missionary described that it was about someone who created everything, who created life, all life including man, who makes plants grow, animals do what they do, stars, everything. He is the one who made the world as it is today and made sure that the sun rises, that the fruit falls to the earth when it comes out of the trees. He is what binds us all and helps us hope when we no longer find any way out, etc. At one point the chief tathasd, identified what God is, and exclaimed, "So you mean Manitu, the Great Spirit." Here's how a sum of metaphors managed to induce the perception of something not previously perceived, identified with that something that already existed, but interpreted in another way.

Legends and imaginary journeys, but also spiritual stories, as many of the religious parables are, are extremely comprehensive and often multi-meaning metaphors, which should help people to give more consistency to their daily lives, to offer more tolerance or consolation, and to develop respect for others, thus attracting the elimination or mere non-existence of conflicts that make our lives so difficult or so associable with the state of illness. Moreover, a proper use of them can be much more connected to our subconscious so knowing and everything take a favorable turn unimaginable.

Using metaphors, problems and possible possibilities of resolution highlighted (or extracted, recalled from the subconscious) that do not have a logical "connection" with reality (including the unremembered one) can be presented within action models (real action) and valuing that essentially correspond to reality. And it's all done by simply resing with something that already exists, helping the conscious to achieve a proper filtering of what exists and to build, complete current perceptions.

Thus, messages communicate freely to and from the subconscious, and because it is able to recognize much better than conscious reason the similarities existing between models, and thus perceiving reality and in the identical structures of metaphors, it can use them to form healthier habits, replacing the old ones, which have become harmful... Thus, he is able to use new ways of looking at certain realities, previously perceived as difficulties or to develop understanding for diversity and more good things... So it helps us to complete the incomplete, even non-existent and to be able to have a better basis for evaluation and action...

But, in principle, it should be noted that the messages of a metaphor, as well as other suggestions, are rejected by the subconscious if it causes the appearance of attitudes that contradict the most important goals of the structure of the human personality. Moreover, in addition, the individual must feel emotionally accepted, respected and understood by the one who "initiates" (tells) the metaphor, realizing what can be called bridge between hearts, between the subconscious. Only in this case the subconscious opens to receive the message of a "therapeutic story" (for example). The above reveals why, in the case of uncontrolled dreams, there are so many "divergences" and so little understanding (I mean globally, in most human individuals), the basis of this imbalance being the different levels of knowledge and evaluation between the subconscious and the conscious (but, perhaps I will return to this topic sometime... now we have a different kind of work).

Let's talk about metaphors in more detail! The "control" of their interpretation and/ or use is not as hard as it seems because each of us has used this art many times in our lives so far, because everyday life is full of comparisons, stories, examples and transcriptions. With the help of metaphors, we often (as I pointed out) we have consciously used capabilities that we already have (the height!!!). After all, by recounting metaphors, we have become (or can be) loved by children. But let's not forget that they don't just like "fairytales"!

They also like and are useful for adults who have not yet buried in the "graveyard of professional constraints" (or everyday, everyday life) play (collaboration with other people in the disinterested way), the joy of discovering and the fascination with the world of dreams. We always forget that the most important deposits of the subconscious are represented by those from childhood, no matter how much we "stretch" this period in number of years.

But let me get to work and present (especially with the help of consecrated authors) some examples of metaphors that relate to common life situations! And depending on your intentions, have a base, for example for life or fantasy travel, or as examples for some creative descriptions or memories. It is natural that many of them can develop in one or more directions in order to emphasize or value direct, different content, depending on the reactions that are intended to be triggered but this will prove particularly useful in applying all the techniques "correction" or "construction" that will be described in their time (in future posts)... So, let's start from a kind of "basic considerations", present as I pointed out, in anyone's life!

What is life? The new year of descriptions that will pass through anyone's mind can "touch" considerations like: hardship, insecurity, a rare tangency to happiness, a meaningless thing, according to me the flood or the like. but, these are mere findings and/ or decisions. They have no connection to metaphors. Why don't we consider life to be something akin to a visit to an amusement park, or a continuous vacation?!? The child in us passes the entrance full of enthusiasm and, at first, has to get an overview about everything. What to choose: the slide, the carousel, the spinning hat, the hammer, the tunnel of horror, the fields of love, etc.?

When you know what's going on, the fun starts. Many of the children in us choose at random or climb into the first "fun installation/structure" that comes his way. The sensations of pleasure or unpleasantness that are born depend on each individual. Among the selections, "in the rest of the day/ days" we can play the wackiest games, we can lose, we can win, we can marvel at the extraordinary ideas (outside our knowledge) of the architect and we can admire the perfect organization behind the scenes. If we don't approach things too seriously, too fiercely or too "ownorganized", we can have a lot of fun with other kids at that amusement park, and maybe we'll find new friends with whom to have or not.

Maybe we'll find everything so perfect, so great, that at the end of the day, law enforcement will have to actually push you out through the exit gate. Many of us will effectively fight them so we can have even more fun in this park. If, however, on the way home, you notice how tired, overexcited you are of everything that has happened, and you miss a little peace, you relax a little by little and you are glad that, before you wake up again to start a new round, you will have a long and restful sleep (which, anyway, seems to take only a moment)... Here's what a simple metaphor means, what it wants to give an idea of life! Here are how many interpretations can be born from a simple text, depending on the power of immersion (dreaming) and acceptance of each of us!

What is death? Starting from the example above, it can be long and restful sleep. Or, it may be a kind of vacation before which you are afraid to leave your home unattended, you fear that you are not leaving everything in order to have a quiet holiday, you feel that it will be difficult, or even stupid not to see your friends for a long time, or other considerations related to organization and fear of losing ties and/ or control. or, if we take into account the fact that it is a vacation on your own you fear about what your family will do (children, girlfriend, etc.), what will happen to your business, etc.

Or, you're afraid of that difficult journey, and everything about it, that you're about to do in some unknown realms that you think or feel you're visiting for the first time. But you already know: the same thing you felt before the last holidays, especially if they were in new, foreign places, but everything was very good. When you came back, rested and relaxed because you had so much time for yourself, you were able to throw yourself back, with joy, into the tumult of your daily life... And the metaphorical "debates" could continue here.

What is the joy of living? It's the permanent retrieval with the child in us... It's the spice that makes food taste good no matter how bad it is without spices, so that, just thinking about it, it leaves your mouth water... It's the permanent retrieval of love... It's the kerosene that powers the car of our dreams and actions... And I could go on until the end of the day...

What is love? It is something similar to cement (mortar has connotations and I did not use it) that unites the bricks of a building, without which everything will collapse hopelessly. It is the power given by the Creator to be like him, to give life. It is what unites two or more people in an angel, in a God... It's the way that gives meaning to all existence, the highway of our self...

What does it mean to be in love? It's something like a lit matchstick. At first there is a great blaze that burns intensely without consuming the stick, the wooden rod of life but which, little by little, depending on the material of the rod, burns until it exhausts the whole... Or it is like a lighter that burns bright and goes off without consequence if it is not supplied by the gas inside, from the tank, which can turn it into a large and hot flame (even if it all is related to the volume of gas that will exhaust even after all)...

What is health? Something similar to the electric current. He constantly asks you to pay the bill for its existence, and you notice how important it is to you only during the blackouts or, something similar to the wings that helped Icar's flight. I'm fulfilling your dreams, but if you break the rules and go too high on your flight, you're out of them...

What is the disease? Something like a cloud swirling in front of the sun. It exists, it darkens your life but it will disappear if you move to sunny places or build a shelter until the cloud (or storm) passes. Or, it's like a beach stay. If you're careful not to stay in the sun too long, maybe you'll look a lot better. If you stay too long, it'll hurt or you'll never sunbathe again...

What is relaxation? It is something similar to a machine that is taken out of circulation so that it can be thoroughly overhauled and repaired before, due to overuse or simple use, it does not break down the next time it is used. After that, one can trust the car's ability to take us on our roads.

What is fear? It is like a pole indicator for those who participate in traffic. If you take heed and drive cautiously, you'll get safely where you want. Or, it's that feeling that certifies to you that you've broken ties with God, that you've left the faith.

What is hate? Something like sulfuric acid which, over time, gnaws off any vessel in which it is stored. Or, something similar to uranium that, thanks to radiation, will sicken or kill everyone around it.

What is laziness? It's something like a loose guitar string. It simply makes other noises than it should and renders the entire guitar unusable due to the lack of harmony. Or, for "singing craftsmen" it's that string that needs to be removed for use in order to play something with the rest of the strings.

What is the mania of excessive work? We take the guitar above and notice that this mania is like a guitar string too stretched for a musician. He thinks this will sound better (and maybe he does) but no one knows exactly when this rope will break. Not even the musician in question...

You realize the examples could continue. And not necessarily because my mind is very good at it...

From the examples presented you can see how easy it is for the uncontrolled dream to be interpreted... Similarly, you can see how easy it is for us to be able to see things differently...

But time has passed, and I have other things to do... We're going to gargle some time tomorrow about the language of the unconscious, probably about metaphors and other "connecting" and then we're going to move on to the language of the conscious... Thanks for understanding!

Love, Gratitude and Understanding (Namaste)!!!
